I only say something so blasphemous about my OTP because as much faith and empathy I have in Pete Campbell as a character, I know that Peggy is too good for him and he can’t give her much of anything in return. BRB WASHING MY MOUF OUT WITH SOAP
That’s better, haha. But really, the thought of Don/Peggy makes me ill. THEY ARE CAREER BUILDING SOUL-MATES WHOSE LIVES AND GOALS PARALLEL IN COMPARABLE WAYS. Weiner would ruin that epicness if he writes in Don and Peggy vertical tango. And I would vomit.
I know, dude.. I think the same thing of her relationship with him. SHE’S SO YOUNG AND GOOD. HE IS HER MENTOR. BEST PLATONIC RELATIONSHIP EVER. But I remember reading an article in which the “Real Peggy” (aka the woman that Peggy was based upon) ended up marrying the character Don was based upon irl. I was so unbelievably disheartened after that, plus I feel like their relationship is ascending in a way where it’s kind of crossing the line between being platonic and adoring into legitimate interest. It’s gross, but… idk, I don’t want to be right about this. Pete/Peggy and Don/Existentialism 4evr
